Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another."

  • While some may think this site is anti-law enforcement that is far from the truth. Until ACSO admits to their shortcomings and takes accountability for the same they will stay dull.

  • We support all law-abiding Law Enforcement and at the same time call out the “Blue Wall”.

  • ACSO claims “Integrity” is their first and foremost value and that they are honest and treat people fairly.  They have missed their mark that we have documented on this site.  (Review "Deputy Orcutt's off-leashdeployment conclusion")

  • Sheriff Clifford states that “trust of the community, which is our fundamental responsibility” we agree, but until he is willing to hold his Deputies accountable for not adhering to policy and good practices but rather operating outside the same and being the cause for hurting and traumatizing the public, (in this case we have highlighted and innocent homeowner) there is no trust from the public.

  • We believe: "Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist have been appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists that authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of that authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword in vain, for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of that wrath, but also because of conscience. For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor."

  • We believe:  ".. each one of us will give an account of himself to God."

Deputy Orcutt's off-leash deployment conclusion

Law enforcement needs integrity to maintain public trust and uphold the rule of law, as officers are given significant power with broad discretion, and a lack of integrity can lead to corruption, abuse of power, and a breakdown of community safety and fairness. Integrity ensures accountability, allows for just decision-making, and builds credibility with the public, which is essential for effective policing.

When law enforcement doesn't follow policies and continues with their customs it can lead to negative consequences for the agency, such as increased liability and civil lawsuits, and can result in police misconduct which violates citizens' rights.

Law enforcement must be truthful to maintain public trust, uphold the integrity of the judicial process, and ensure fair and just outcomes in criminal cases. Dishonesty undermines confidence in the police, leading to decreased cooperation from the community and making it harder to solve crimes. In court, false testimony is perjury and can result in severe penalties, potentially derailing cases and compromising justice.

Public trust in law enforcement is the community's belief that the police are honest, effective, and committed to protecting them and upholding justice. This confidence enables officers to effectively do their jobs, as it encourages citizens to provide tips, report wrongdoing, and cooperate with law enforcement efforts, leading to safer communities.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your hand to do it.

Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back, and tomorrow I will give it,”

When it is there with you.

Do not devise harm against your neighbor,

while he lives securely beside you.

Do not contend with a man without cause,

if he has dealt you no harm.

Do not envy a man of violence

and do not choose any of his ways.

For the devious one is an abomination to Yahweh;

But His secret council is with the upright.

The curse of Yahweh is on the house of the wicked one, but He blesses the abode of the righteous.

Though He scoffs at the scoffers,

Yet He gives grace to the humble.

The wise will inherit glory,

but fools raise up disgrace. - God's Word

Leadership that fails to demand high standards can create an environment where mediocrity and misconduct are allowed to flourish.

When law enforcement lacks accountability, it fosters a toxic culture of impunity, leading to misconduct and abuse, such as police brutality and wrongful convictions, which erodes public trust, damages community mental health, fuels social unrest, and can result in costly litigation and federal intervention for the department. This environment makes officers less likely to follow proper procedures and can make people less likely to assist in investigations, creating more crime and a cycle of mistrust.

Consequences for ADA COUNTY

Erosion of public trust:

Erosion of public trust:

Erosion of public trust:

When officers are not held responsible for misconduct, community confidence in law enforcement plummets. This can make it difficult for police to receive cooperation from the public, which is essential for effective crime-solving.

Widespread misconduct:

Erosion of public trust:

Erosion of public trust:

Without meaningful consequences, law enforcement agencies are more likely to experience problems like excessive force, corruption, and wrongful convictions. Abuses can range from minor ethical breaches to severe violations of civil rights, with some of the most egregious cases involving violence against citizens.

Wrongful convictions:

Disproportionate impact:

Disproportionate impact:

A lack of accountability can contribute to wrongful convictions. This happens when there is no one to ensure proper procedures are followed, and the legal system can be manipulated. Qualified immunity, for example, can shield officers from personal liability, making it difficult to challenge abuses in court.

Disproportionate impact:

Disproportionate impact:

The failure to hold officers accountable often disproportionately harms marginalized communities. Research has found that Black officers, for instance, have been sanctioned more harshly than white officers for similar misconduct.
