Serving the public in any capacity is a privilege, not a right. In law enforcement, just like in real estate, accountability in policing and serving the public with integrity is paramount. If individuals cannot be honest about the lives, well-being, and finances of others, they should not hold these positions of trust. Unlike law enforcement, where the Blue Wall of Silence may protect unethical behavior, there is no such barrier in the real estate market. I know a man who walked away from the Texas Rangers around 1900 due to the issues surrounding the Blue Wall. This 'Blue Wall' has been a concern for over 125 years, and the reality is that until law enforcement ethics improve, the Blue Wall will persist until the Second Coming.
